Vegemite & Cheese Twists

Makes: about 12–16 twists Prep Time: 10 Min Bake Time: 15–20 Min


I N G R E D I E N T S


  • Puff pastry sheets (thawed)

  • Vegemite (just a thin layer)

  • Grated cheese (cheddar or tasty cheese works best)

  • Sesame seeds


D I R E C T I O N S


  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F). Line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. Sprinkle sesame seeds directly onto your board or bench, then lay a sheet of puff pastry on top so the seeds stick.

  3. Spread a thin layer of Vegemite evenly over the pastry.

  4. Sprinkle generously with grated cheese.

  5. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the pastry into strips (about 2 cm wide).

  6. Roll up each strip, twist, and place on the prepared tray.

  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until golden, puffed, and crisp.

  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.


N o t e :


Perfect for lunchboxes, picnic snacks, or a quick savoury bite. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Best enjoyed warm
